New Finds in Pompeii.
Dr Peter Jones gave us a presentation today entitled "New Finds in Pompeii."
Peter's presentation started with a view of Naples showing the city and the location of Mount Vesuvius.
Next he showed the depth of the volcanic mass that was deposited onto Naples and the stages that have been gone through excavating in parts of the city.
He went on to show how far archaeologists have got what is left to do and approximately how long it may take.
The whole presentation was very factual, informative and sometimes startling in what processes had to be processed to keep everything safe, many more sides were shown to show the past and current position.
Questions followed on several points to conclude a very entertaining morning.
